Some time ago, I had a great chance to design my own wallpaper, while taking part in Osborne & Little competition.
I've done couple of samples by using traditional technique - screen printing. Now I know that it's such a hard work, it requires great precision and patience. Designing and printing digitally is a lot quicker and easier. I admire people who still produce wallpapers manually!

Flower design inspired by Euphrasia

The Personal Project was my last project in this academic year. Given brief has focused on developing work that represents personal approach to using chosen materials, developing initial observations and investigations into a single piece or series of works.
The project culminates with a group exhibition at The Contemporary Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey 7-9 June 2013. Really great opportunity to show a little bit of me in such a lovely public space and be a part of a huge arts event.

My aim was to produce a series of samples of fabrics for lampshades. But there is much broader possibility to use them for interiors, such as cushions, bedding, curtains etc. The samples are a manipulation of natural, cool colours and are based on paisley designs and floral patterns.

My interest in textiles was first aroused by embroidery and reading Richard Box's book. (what a great artist!) These things strongly influenced my artworks and hence I always relate to nature, floral designs and landscapes.
I think that textiles help me focus on natural world and by that I also start to understand the beauty of nature which surrounds me...
