Final Major Project - tick, done!
Through a lot of samples and experiments with digital print I came up with my final fabric for upholstery.
I printed my design on to cotton sateen digitally and then contacted with a professional local upholsterer. He helped me to finish my old chair.

The Mythical Fern Flower
My main aim was to design and produce a professional fabric for upholstery. I was inspired by my old chair found at a car boot sale. The chair was in poor condition so I wanted to renew it and give a breath of something new created by me. That's why I focused on designing
the right fabric for upholstery.
Some of us are familiar with the story of a magical fern flower which blooms for a very short time on the eve of the Summer solstice. The flower brings fortune and luck to person who finds it. My fabrics inspired by mentioned fern flower are a pencil drawing and they have been developed with Adobe Photoshop and then printed digitally.
I love the quality of pencil drawings!

Inspired by deconstruction in nature
Inspired by nature... I've found a great potential in leaves. I wanted to create a pattern based on leafy shape but after further investigations I started to think of deconstruction.
My final samples are a combination of traditional drawing and real pictures of deconstructed leaves.

Personal Project
The Personal Project was my last project in this academic year. Given brief has focused on developing work that represents personal approach to using chosen materials, developing initial observations and investigations into a single piece or series of works.
The project culminates with a group exhibition at The Contemporary Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey 7-9 June 2013. Really great opportunity to show a little bit of me in such a lovely public space and be a part of a huge arts event.
My aim was to produce a series of samples of fabrics for lampshades. But there is much broader possibility to use them for interiors, such as cushions, bedding, curtains etc. The samples are a manipulation of natural, cool colours and are based on paisley designs and floral patterns.
